It can't* just be me. 😐

I'm a-waaaaayz away from my neighborhood. Connected to the city #WiFi and the speed test results are 120Kbps and .73Mbps.

On my #MobileData with 2 different providers the results are worse. Got signal and "connected" but can't get on the #internet.

Pretty sure the cell towers here are not the same that I'm connecting to when I'm home.

Oh but the cafe staff here let me connect to his mobile hotspot and his data seems just fine. 🤷‍♀️

Why is this happening to me?! 😖

I find it interesting how different internet providers have varying levels of latency. My home connection has a noticeable delay when connecting to most #Fediverse sites. Meanwhile, my mobile data provider is quite consistent in its swiftness.

#WiFi speed at the #mall now is at 58Mbps.
I'm surprised.
And kinda impressed.

At #home, I survive on #MobileData. Speeds at 10-ish Mbps, sometimes slower. Good enough for work and Zoom video calls with screen sharing. Total cost per month (with all 3 service providers), less than 1k. 🤪

@Casinoslcohol Our place still has no internet. Hoping Converge will come serve our area. But it looks like we can only expect PLDT, Globe and SkyCable. Still no idea when that'll happen.

So I'm surviving #remotework by relying on #mobiledata from the 3 cellular networks.

Globe #MobileData is hopeless.

Countless times thru the years I'd get prepaid data, like 1GB for a day, but only get to use a few KBs or MBs before it expired. Because. Globe is useless.

Connection to the network also goes on and off every so often. It's not just me. Other users are noticing too.

Anywayz, I was just trying to use some rewards points before the points expired. I haven't given any actual money to Globe for years now.
