So we were setting up a #Mobilizon instance for our #hackerSpace yesterday, just getting quickly off the ground using the docker image.
One thing that really stumped us and was not adequately explained in the docs is:
What is the usage of SECRET_KEY_BASE and especially SECRET_KEY and can they be the same? (The documentation seems to suggest as much)

I really think activists for #ExtinctionRebellion for example should use #Mobilizon for organizing actions and not main stream socials 🤔

You are missing one of the, IMHO, most interesting options: #Mobilizon.
Event planning, decentralized with multiple identities built in, so you can have both your furry and your church group user and no one will know they are the same account.

First result from attending #HiP22: Pasting a #Mobilizon event URL into #KDE Itinerary now properly imports the basic event details :) There's much more we can do still though, with proper #ActivityPub and/or Mobilizon API support.

Wrt participation in a #mobilizon event using a mastodon account, that's the response I got on the @Framasoft forum.

tl;dr: "this will never be supported"

I tried #mobilizon, the #fediverse platform for events.

Some notes on mastodon -> mobilizon integration:

- Mobilizon users can be retrieved but not followed
- Groups can be followed
- Search with the event link works
- Event tags searching works (very helpful)
- Event title is shown, not the details section
- Cannot participate in the event using a mastodon ccount

In general, it 's been a positive experience. Wrt the last point, is it a protocol/software/instance limitation or just me?
