And straight out of the museum collection comes the authentic East German class 244, one of the oldest models I own, pulling era-appropriate Deutsche Reichsbahn coaches, making a brief encounter with the APT-P in the curve. Obviously in reality, those two never met.

Sharing some familiarities with the APT-P is the German #ET403, in reality also a short lived high speed train with tilting that made passengers sick and was soon disabled. Lasting some more years in actual passenger service than the APT-P, it also wears one of the best liveries ever concieved by its operator, Deutsche #Bundesbahn

A look back to 2021 with some moving images from my layout, which has been the same green plate for several years now.

The videos include the infamous #BritishRail #APT-P which honestly is my favourite british train by design and I'm delighted I was able to visit the real one in Crewe last summer! The model is from Hornby back when the original still ran and it features functional tilting.

The eagle-eyed spotted the iconic #ET403 standing in the background of last nights "Good night!"-post, a train that still seems to enjoy a decent following but isn't exactly a common sight on model railways, so here it comes thundering through at speed! (scale speed of about 180 km/h, mine doesn't quite manage 200 at the moment as the design of the unit means you either have severe wheelslip or poor contact)

Der Raum für Decoder nach #Next18 / #NEM662 ist mehr als eindeutig spezifiziert. Im Dach des #RegioShuttle von #Kuehn ist auch mehr als ausreichend Platz für einen #Next18S-Sound-Decoder. 👨‍🏫

Trotzdem schafft es die Firma "Kuehn Modell & Digital", die Position des Decoder-Steckers so auf der fast leeren Platine anzuordnen, dass kein die Norm ausnutzender Decoder hinpasst. 😫

Als das Modell vor über 20 Jahren vorgestellt wurde, so ziemlich am Limit dessen, was sich in #SpurTT motorisieren ließ. Deshalb holte ich auch noch mal den Analogregler raus, um diese Lok fahren zu lassen. Vor dem Digitalisieren schreckte ich bislang zurück: Der Platz ist durchaus vorhanden, doch müssten Metallstreifen, die direkt von den Radreifen zum Motor führen, durchtrennt werden.

Die 80 017 von #Roco in #SpurTT auf kurzer Testfahrt. Das Vorbild diente auf den Hauptbahnhöfen in #Leipzig und #Köln als #Rangierlok.

Wahrscheinlich bekommt das Maschinchen noch einen Pufferspeicher: Für eine zuverlässige Stromabnahme liegen die drei kleinen Rädchen einfach viel zu dicht beieinander.
