the "High Cross" from #Clones, #Monaghan . model made from about 150 photos, and frames extracted from a short video.

I've (crudely) removed the fence and lights that surrounded it because the photogrammetry didn't work well on them anyway. the cross itself came out well though.

him: ah, I was born in Glaslough St in Monaghan. my da and his two friends Paudge and Thomas were on the run from #Derry...
[proceeds to tell his entire life story]
him: ...and then only a few months ago Paudge sat down on some steps, said he felt unwell. Died a few days later of the Covid. Terrible thing.
me: ... do you take card?
him: no, and no Euro either.

spent the last hour photographing Marc Kelly's new sculpture, The Druid, at #RossmorePark, #Monaghan, for #photogrammetry.

it was installed yesterday. the lack of undergrowth around the sculpture may help the photogrammetry process!

unfortunately a damp day, but hopefully that won't affect it. dampness tends to make things more reflective at different angles, making it harder for the computer to figure things out

Today in the Dáil: TD Holly Cairns raised a HSE proposal to limit home births to women living within 30 minutes of a maternity hospital

"This would have far reaching consequences for families in rural areas who would be denied access to these maternity services."

Cairns said that home births would be prohibited in large areas of #Cork #Kerry #Clare #Galway #Mayo #Donegal #Monaghan and #Wicklow
