Sewage dumped into bathing spots 21,000 times last year.

Three of the top 5 are on Morecambe Bay, St Anne's is on the Ribble, just to the south of Morecambe Bay, and Allonby Bay is a bit further up the Cumbrian Coast. Absolutely horrific.

I enjoy the way through intentional camera movement (#icm) that an image of any subject takes on a #dreamlike feel. I’m attracted to the #escapism of that transition and how it opens up further #creative doors into the production of a piece of #art, more than a #photograph.

This image from the early evening I took over #MorecambeBay from the #cumbria side, panning the camera along the #horizon. I especially like the effect given to the ripples on the water’s surface.

Back in 2017, on a whim, we attended a conference at #LancasterUniversity on Rare #butterflies of #MorecambeBay.

One of the presentations was on the Duke of Burgundy (Hamearis lucina), and just two days later, having joined @savebutterflies we found ourselves on a work party planting the Duke's larval food plant – primroses – in South Cumbria.

I was hooked. Got involved in surveying habitat, counting adult butterflies and then hunting for eggs and larvae.

The start of my butterfly obsession.
