I have just read All Systems Red by Martha Wells, my first foray into sci-fi! I enjoyed it but struggled a little with the novella format as it felt a little like an abrupt end. My colleague suggested I think of each novella as 'episodes', like it's a mini series.

Started watching #SpaceSweepers the other night and man if anyone ever adapts #MurderBotDiaries for the screen it should be these people. Dystopian future aesthetic, check. Rabid anti-capitalism, check. Cheeky machine intelligences, check.

I had this shower thought just now that - and let's be clear I haven't read this theory anywhere else yet - Murderbot's apparent interest in the relationships of the PresAux team in All Systems Red actually has a very simple reason:
Statistically, violence is more likely to occur in relation to relationships. I think it just points stuff out like 'x is into y' because it needs those data points for its Risk Assessment Module.
