Lately I was thinking about "Captain Scarlet and the Mysterons". It always struck me as odd that the #Mysterons were so angry about the destruction of their complex on Mars, when they could literally rebuild it in seconds. So... maybe they developed their mysteronizing technology BECAUSE they were terrified of their things getting destroyed?
Maybe some deep-rooted cultural trauma, like a civil war that nearly destroyed their civilization?
