Nothing to celebrate
On 28 January 2023 we blockaded, for as long as we could, an official “australia day” (better known as “Invasion Day”) party, being held at the Lightbox nightclub in London.
This event (together with everything it represents) is beyond fucked up. The party is a deeply disre

Today was hard for reasons I don’t want to get into publicly. It was my first time realizing this shitty feeling I was having is adoption trauma. It felt terrible. #naam #adopteevoices #adoptee

Nov. is National Adoption Awareness Month. #naam I am an adoptee and this is my NAAM 2022 intro.
I am a private domestic adoptee. Adopted in 1983. I began my adoptee advocacy around 2020 when I found other adoptees online during the pandemic started unpacking my adoption and the unexamined trauma that was surfacing for me starting around 2015.
My advocacy has deeply helped me process and put into context the trauma I did not know I had.
Friends you may or may not know this but November is National Adoption Awareness Month & now National Adoption Month.
I’ll be using this month to tell my adoption journey and how it has affected me and the lives of the people closest to me. #naam #adopteevoices

#NAAM is coming up and I recall the time I heard Elie Wiesel speak about the Book of Job. He asked us to consider God’s giving Job a new family to replace the one taken from him, and to ask: How can we possibly see this as a happy ending?
For an #adoptee, this question resonates.
