As a former high school English teacher, I'm thinking about how I'd teach about - and not with - #ChatGPT.

With today's news that OpenAI paid Kenyan workers less than $2/hr to label disturbing text to train ChatGPT, I'm reminded of #NCTE's recent position statement on media education.

This feels especially relevant: "Because our access to digital media is mediated and shaped by profit-seeking firms, it is important to unmask and critique the less-visible dimensions of the digital platforms..."
