Interestingly, all of the sample proposals for this particular #NEH grant partner with professional design firms. Consequently, the required Design Documents are so pro (and intimidating)! Tho we have an incredible tech staff in the library, we don't produce the glossy user stories and design schematics of a FT firm. It makes me curious if that is what NEH wants - to farm out the work to outside firms? We do it internally so we can include our students in the process.

Excited to announce the launch of #NetWorkLab, a new #training and #professionaldevelopment opportunity from #GreenhouseStudios at @uconn

Aimed at improving #remote #collaboration and #facilitation skills among project managers and team leaders in #digitalhumanities #publichistory and allied fields, NetWorkLab will bring together a cohort of 24 participants for a year-long, completely online program of learning and doing under the instruction and individual coaching of Greenhouse Studios staff.

The program is funded in part by a $249,000 grant from the #NEH Institutes for Advanced Topics in the Digital Humanities program.

The #NEH gives a Preservation Assistance Grant to UMBC to support conservation of their 5,400 collection of photographs by Lewis Hine who worked with the National #ChildLabor Committee (NCLC) from 1908-1930 documenting children in the workplace. #Archives #SpecialCollections
