Imagine, a sign-up page that displays a form which doesn't list SERVERS but asks you, instead, to choose one of your INTERESTS.
Oh, you are interested in "tech"? What kind of tech? FOSS? General? Something else? FOSS, cool, we're signing you up for #fosstodon. There's also #noc if you want, BTW.
Just by changing this much of UX and language, the process can become intuitive rather than 'difficult'.
