We are at my workplace moving heavily into this area, and our interest is the ethical elements in this field. Interesting when #Microsoft and others shut down their own ethical AI teams.

I am here at the NTNU Energy Transition Conference 2023, one of the biggest conferences in the topic of energy.

There are speakers and representatives from big companies like Equinor, Statkraft etc. as well as from the World Bank, European Commission, Norwegian Government and from universities like MIT, NMBU, Imperial College London etc.

@keithwilson This is a betrayal of the whole mission of higher education in #Norway as I understand it. Shame on @unioslo and I really hope #NTNU doesn't do this. Though after the appalling decision to combine campuses despite all the red flags and votes of no confidence from employees, I won't be holding my breath. Here goes, my first attempt at #introduction: I'm professor of #visualculture at #NTNU, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology, where I head up the fledgling research group Media, Data, Museums. As a photo historian with a background in professional picture research, I study the labour, systems, technologies, and #infrastructures that underpin visual culture from the early 1800s to the present. More of a media antiquarian than a media archaeologist. I'm the author of Picture Research: The Work of Intermediation from Pre-Photography to Post-Digitization – forthcoming from MIT Press in June 2023. In real life I'm quite loud; on social media I'm usually quiet.
