Dear Friends,

As much as I like Jim Gaughran, (I do) the just announced Democratic candidate for #NY01, I am concerned. He is respected but is 66 years old. He will be going head to head with current Rep. LaLota, a 45 yr old Republican who won an open seat and can tell a story of vibrant youth, new thinking, etc. He can use age along with Gaughran's center-left voting record to malign him with the usual and effective tropes.

Somebody tell me I am wrong.
