#NZTwits who are interested in #NZPol and the survival of our society should read this about the growth of #Adhocracy in politics before deciding who to support in the #NZVotes2023

Do #NZTwits realise National's proposal to end fuel taxes and replace these with congestion charges will mean smaller fuel efficient vehicles will be subsidising oversized gas guzzling high polluting male fragility machines and cause higher carbon emissions on top of the increased methane emissions under National kicking the farm methane emissions can further down the road. #NZPol #ClimateEmergency #NZVotes2023

@zl2tod @essjax Nicky Hager's denial that he's writing a book about the TPU doesn't mean he's not writing a book about the dark money financing the hate and racism we're seeing promoted by the #NZPol right in the lead up to the #NZVotes2023 election. I'm sure Jordan Williams and David Farrar of the TPU and other astro turf organisations will be worthy of a shout out or maybe even get a chapter when/if the book's released.
#NZTwits, a very real and frightening reality to consider when deciding how to cast your #NZVotes2023 #NZPol #PartyVote is who owns and controls #Aotearoa #NewZealand. The attempts for the Govt's #3Waters urgent investment and upgrades has not only been opposed to by both National & ACT but have been stymied by far right racist rhetoric and political opportunists funded by dark money.

@SRHAstraea The political media understand perfectly what margin of error means but more importantly, the number of undecided voters are consistently ignored despite the undecideds being the voters who will ultimately decide the outcome of the election. #NZPol #NZVotes2023
To be fair to David Seymour he doesn't disguise his despise for NZer's who aren't filthy and rich. #NZPol #NZVotes2023
Imagine what the critical #NZPol issues would be leading up to the #NZVotes2023 election if #NZMedia gave even half the attention to the global and domestic threats of #ClimateChange as they give to promoting a national fear of #RamRaids.
#nzpol #NZVotes2023 #NZMedia #climatechange #RamRaids
The NZ National Party proposing to prioritise building 4 lane #NationalRoadsOfSignificance during this existential #ClimateEmergency threat is like prioritising to paint your house while it's on fire. #NZVotes2023 #NZTwits #NZPol

@pezmico The planet and its people are facing an existential crisis that barely rates a mention by #NZMedia who are complicit in this denial. The #ClimateEmergency threatens everyone and everything we love and needs to be the most critical #NZPol deciding factor in the #NZVotes2023.
#NZMedia #climateemergency #nzpol #NZVotes2023
@pezmico I don't think people understand just how immediate this crisis is. We have a #NZPol #NZVotes2023 election coming up and barely a mention in #NZMedia about the urgency for drastic climate action. I thought once NZ started witnessing the devastation and financial cost of extreme weather events caused by #ClimateChange we'd wake up to the #ClimateEmergency. Vote either Green or TPM or else get in the sea whether you want to or not.

I’m a lifelong Labour voter - with one exception, I party voted Greens in 2017.
But I cannot give my party vote to Labour this time. It must go #NZGreens for having the courage and commitment to back transformative change.
I don’t feel I’m facilitating the election of a NACT Gvt. A strong Greens showing this election benefits the overall centre left bloc. #nzvotes2023.
NZ Greens are producing progressive, relevant policy across a wide range of issues. They’re positioning themselves as serious policymakers.
Their input on a wealth tax, renters rights and climate action are especially noteworthy.
I believe this is a major factor in their 3% rise in the latest TVNZ1 Verian poll. #NZVotes2023
Latest Kantar. Key points
- Poll taken after Labour’s
ministerial woes, yet NACT
only 2% ahead of centre-left
grouping
- Greens up to a meritorious 10%
- 12% still unsure who they’d
vote for.
Still line ball.
#NZVotes2023
“In it for you”…. perhaps one of the more clunky campaign slogans I’ve seen.
The core sentiment/message is ok in itself - it’s more that the set of words chosen lack a certain flow and synergy?
Oh well its now the party of Chippy “Sausage Roll” Hipkins.
I do miss the Ardern charisma.
Decided to party vote Green this election. #nzpol #NZVotes2023
@Spakit @rnzbot_political As the #ClimateEmergency causes devastating damage to global infrastructure and threaten’s global food security… the NZ National Party “We don’t need to worry about #ClimateChange until 2050, meanwhile we’re focusing on finding and fixing NZ’s pot holes. #NZPol #NZVotes2023

Just to put NZ’s unblanced/wages-centric tax system in global perspective, other developed economies ALL have one or more of the following taxes:
- Wealth tax
- Windfall tax
- Capital gains tax
- Inheritance tax
- Stamp duties on property
transactions.
NZ has none of the above taxes. Arguably, we tax wealth accumulation least in the world.
@alpinefolk
A 95% majority for the New Zealand Greens after the #NZVotes2023 election is probably being unrealistic. However, the Greens fully costed tax policy would make 95 percent of New Zealanders better off by asking the wealthiest 0.7 percent to pay their fair share. #NZPol
Many #NZTwits have decided the #NZVotes2023 election is lost thanks to Hipkins’ abandoning CGT or wealth tax in the next term. I would like to reframe the scenario. Nact’s whole campaign is centred on attacking Labour taxes. Now the fear is focused on Greens & TPM tax reforms. They’ll get more support from the left and the right’s only way of guaranteeing no new taxes is voting Nact or Labour. The higher TPM & Green support the more centrist voters will vote Labour. #NZPol
@nzgreens I couldn’t help but notice the opening frame of this video with James Shaw and the words “The Prime Minister” beneath him. #NZPol #NZVotes2023 #PartyVoteGreens

@ArrestJK @SlaneCartoons
Of course we’re all assuming Labour will have a clear majority in a coalition government with Greens and TPM. If Greens and TPM achieve a 20%+ slice of the vote then they will be in a powerful position to negotiate with Labour. I can see absolutely zero negatives party voting Greens or TPM. #NZPol #NZVotes2023
