#NaNoWriMo22 saw me complete the writing portion of my first novel. After avoiding it for almost 2 months, I have determined it is time to revisit and start the revisions. I almost don’t want to.

Picked up a couple pages to review. Finding bits & bobs to dismantle, reconsider, etc.

But every so often, and I feel immodest saying it, I come across a line or, prompting this toot, a whole paragraph, that I look at think “wow, did I really write that? Because that is some honest-to-god great stuff.”
I worry that it’ll be a darling that needs to die.
Right now, it’s just misplaced. Finding a new home for this lovely ‘graph may be tricky, though

I didn’t write today, but I finally picked up my #NaNoWriMo22 and began the first pass editing process. I know where there are huge problems, but I haven’t looked at the thing since completing it, so….
Going page by page, making column and line notes.
Still waiting to get to the part where I changed the MC’s last name because I was too lazy to scroll back up to find it. Never had a last name in the outline, so…

I'm writing the series ender for the Menopausal Superheroes series…and it's been kicking my butt. Ending a series is a very different proposition then writing the next book. But #NaNoWriMo22 really helped me build #momentum again. Even when I don't make 50K, I always benefit from participating. It shuts down my overthinking. #writinglife #writingcommunity

So, during November I wrote every day for my personal #NaNoWriMo22 challenge. I knew I wasn't up to doing a full 50k.

Over the month I made it over 15k, mostly background on the #fantasy world #amwriting and I drew several maps. It's felt a lot more like making an #ttrpg sourcebook than writing a story!

Beide Projekte sind #NaNoWriMo22 Babies, das Dark Academia Projekt wird bei dp Digital Publishers veröffentlicht, das Korean Fantasy Projekt beim Tagträumerverlag. Beide Geschichten sind von der koreanischen Mythologie inspiriert 🎉 und ich freu mich, hier die nächsten Monate über #DarkMacadamia und #HissKiss zu schreiben.

Well, I did it! For the 6th year in a row, I won #NaNoWriMo ! That makes 12 wins overall, out of 19 attempts. I finished with 51,181 words this year, and finally cracked over 700,000 NaNo words total since 2004. Congrats to all the other #NaNoWriMo22 winners!

Woo! Love that feeling.

And that's it for #NaNoWriMo22! I've finished the month with 91,171 words, a complete draft, and a full collection of badges! Yes, for the first time ever, I've achieved the 'Hit Par Every Day' badge.

The novel isn't finished, but I wrote just over 60K during #NaNoWriMo22 . I hope to finish this draft by the end of the year. #Writing

Nicht, weil ich unbedingt zur Kategorie der Gewinner gehören muss, es freut mich aber trotzdem, die 50.000 Wörter geschaft zu haben: vor allem deshalb, weil mein Roman damit ein gutes Stück weitergekommen ist. Zeit für erste Grobkorrekturen, die Kontrolle der Logik und des Zeitverlaufs. Schön auch, dass von meinen 6 Buddies drei Personen die 50k vor mir geschafft haben. Auch ihnen herzliche Gratulation!

This month I've been following along with the writerly folk doing nanowrimo, but instead of writing I've been editing - happy to say, I made my (self imposed) target: 30th November 2022: 60,485 words edited, up to end of CH31 - 11/12-ish more chapters to go to the end of this draft. Still masses to go.
