Happy days my New Years gift arrived :NiceThumb:
Let the fun begin

I'm ready to start messing with Home Assistant - anyone have a suggestion where to start? Legit walkthroughs?
I've got a fanless x86 with ssd I'll start with since I don't have a Pi to spare right now.
I've been an Alexa user for years, so will tie that ecosystem in via nabu casa I think.
I have used Dallas 18B20 OneWire temperature sensors for YEARS. They're just brilliant.
I have driven them with PICs, USB dongles on Windows (OW.NET) and Linux (OWFS). I've used the native Raspberry Pi interface.
Having recently joined the @homeassistant fanclub I thought I'd give #esphome a go.
Wow. By FAR the easiest integration I've found! Took literally minutes to get sensors on an #adafruit Feather reporting over MQTT into HA. Seriously good job #NabuCasa
Iād like to see #NabuCasa flex harder on hardware. They are good at it, and the products elevate the #HomeAssistant ecosystem. Just right away give us a combination PIR/mmWave mains powered room presence sensor, powered by ESPhome, potentially with Bluetooth proxy out of the box. Pretty please?
@djweso @Stephen How ironic that I'm going to send a link to a video(!) that made it finally click for me. Uses #MushroomCards which are the way to go in my opinion. Especially since developer is now part of the #NabuCasa team.
I like videos from this source because I can easily understand voice at 1.25-1.5x playback without excessive 'chipmunk'. Also the way they use the screen makes it easy to follow. Strong personal gripe of mine.
@jitteringrunt @compulsivecyclist @eskibrew +1 to using #NabuCasa for #Alexa and #GoogleHome integrations. While I'm using #cloudflared for tunnels, I think it's worthwhile to pay for nabu.casa to support the devs and get the much nicer integrations.
#NabuCasa #alexa #googlehome #cloudflared
Switched to a yearly subscription of #nabucasa for #HomeAssistant . Happy Me š
