One of the major disjunctions in #Buddhism comes when #Nāgārjuna and his followers start to consider the absence of sensory experience to be "reality" and turn the phenomenology of absence (of sensory experience) into a weird #metaphysics, in which *nothing exists* including human beings, but somehow we *still have experiences*. That is to say, the worst kind of philosophical nonsense.

#Buddhiststudies #academia has swallowed #Nāgārjuna whole. No one questions him. No one bothers to identify his axioms, let alone critique them. And yet his definition of, say, "existence" is completely unworkable and contradicts mainstream Buddhism.
