I had a tour of a local organic farming enterprise today. Thirty-five years ago Fujisaki-san started organic farming with disabled people. Now they run a restaurant while producing eggs, grains, gobou (greater burdock) tea and... The explanation of the local heirloom varieties of beans, millet, and sesame reminded me of Vandana Shiva. Wendell Berry came to mind while hearing how the group has fun together getting millet ready for processing.
