First #Malaria #Vaccine with High Efficacy

The long search for a gamechanger to #EndMalaria might finally be successful:
The #MalariaVaccine "R21/Matrix-M" has successfully passed phase II showing that it is safe and very immunogenic in African children. It demonstrated promising high-level efficacy as it reduced the risk of contracting the disease by 77%. The #RCT was conducted among 450 children 5-17 months in #Nanoro, #BurkinaFaso.
