In 1888, Maria wrote her #Masterpiece: #Flora of #Nantucket. She especially loved helping young botanists & her work was full of charming details.
Regarding #Chicory, she wrote, "a roadside plant along the south end of Orange Street [for] 50 years."
Walter Deane wrote in Maria's biography for Rhodora,
"[Maria died] on a bright morning [in a] room flooded w/ #Sunshine... & filled with #Iris, #Columbine, & #Cornflowers...
