It's Friday and the start of a #NFL playoff game weekend. Great if you're a sports fan, which I am.

However, I'll also be looking for people talking about #NationalMentoringMonth and ways to make well-organized, mentor-rich programs available to more kids in high poverty areas. Finding new ways to fund #nonprofit operations is one of the challenges.

It's #NationalMentoringMonth in the U.S.A. Events throughout the month will celebrate mentoring, cumulating with a conference in DC at the end of the month.

I focus on mentoring #youth living in high #poverty areas and helping those kids through school and into adult lives. This requires long-term program support.

January is #NationalMentoringMonth, which draws attention to #mentoring in many different formats.

Through #TutorMentor Connection, formed in 1993, I've focused on the programs and infrastructure needed to reach k-12 kids in high poverty areas with well organized, on-going tutor and mentor programs.

Since these are #nonprofit orgs they all need a consistent flow of dollars, volunteers, etc. to do their work.
