My friend Urs reccomended this website when we were discussing a piece of software which had some rather... interesting needs for getting installed properly.

It has NOTHING to do with software, and everything to do with naval architecture.

He stated that it has taken about 1500 years for mankind to stop trying to build boats so tall that they fall over (and, well, I'm sure we'll see another one at some point from some company that tells someone they can build a really awesome yacht, and the yacht will look awesome and be really tall and make it out into the water just far enough to fall over and there will be a lawsuit...)

Anyway: It is a very well designed website that does really neat things with javascript to illustrate points. I believe it also can illustrate the points WITHOUT the illustrations. However I only got about 1/10th of the way thru it today (due to hangover day 2.)

was originally developed for (modelling star formation), but has expanded to , , , , , , just to name a few.
It has caught the attention of several industries, with applications ranging from the design of engines, tires and windshield wipers to the development of wave energy converters, ship-locks, fish-passes and dam spillways.
