This is the foreword by #Steinmeier for an exhibition of the #Nebra sky disc and its origin. The people who built this disc around 2500 B.C. immigrated from a steppe region north of the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea, left and right of Volga. This area is called, also in science, as the southern Russian steppe region. So this is by no means Steinmeier's point of view, but he used the definition commonly used in science.

BTW: Only eastern part of #Ukraine belongs to this region.
