Bench day! No personal records today - no trainer/spotter so I’m not lifting a barbell I’m not positive I can rack again unassisted - but a _lot_of reps a bit lighter and thats a different kind of good. #nerdFitness

Nice progress continuing on my lifting. The weights I'm moving are nothing to write home about for longtime dedicated fitness people, but I'm happy with my progress in just six weeks of serious commitment.
I will likely need some repairs done at some point that will put the squats and deadlifts on the shelf for a while, unfortunately, but that will be a chance to focus on core and cardio, right?
Here's a year. There's not a MASSIVE difference but I am about 10 pounds heavier in the bottom photo (today) than I was in the top (last year).
I've added much weight to my sets over the year and have gotten more comfortable instructing others. It's been great.
If you're thinking about exercising this year, remember to take it slow. Embrace the setbacks, not as a failure, but as part of the process. If you miss a day, it's not all over. If you miss a week, you can start again.

I picked up the Nerd Fitness "NF Journey" app earlier this week. I've done NF bodyweight exercises off-and-on for a few years, but recently noticed that they have an app to gamify fitness. So far I'm enjoying the adventure. Any other #NerdFitness people out there?
