@stardot to me that is a potential #NetBSD workstation ;). Yes, I am making fun of the fact that it still seemed hard setting up wifi to just come up automatically for arbitrary wifi access points rather than for a (ac tethered) stationary system ;).

@ptribble Reviewing the manual, looks like the commands live in /usr/ucb. So the best case alternative would be something like grafting in #FreeBSD’s lpr, or fund #NetBSD’s https://wiki.netbsd.org/projects/project/lpr/?
I’m trying to imagine how one might find a person opposed to ripping out lpr (then buttonholing them into volunteering if they’re persuasive).
I haven’t desired to print from a sunos since 2004, so I’m not volunteering ;-)

DragonFlyBSD’s HAMMER2 file-system being ported on NetBSD

NetBSD continues using the FFS file-system by default while it's offered ZFS support that has been slowly improving -- in NetBSD-CURRENT is the ability to use ZFS as the root file-system if first booting to FFS, for example. There may be another modern file-system option soon with an effort underway to port DragonFlyBSD's
