are so eager to get validation from , it’s sad. Watch them insult and demonise their own just to get a condescending “wow, you’re one off the good ones 🥺” from who would have you dead in two seconds flat if you dared to breathe in a way that made them uncomfortable.

Said it before and saying it again:

"The eyes are windows to the soul" makes a LOT more sense if you think about how

1. windows are primarily for letting visual information IN for the inhabitants of the house

2. when other people look at your window from outside, they mostly just see their own self projected onto it

think we are singularly to aggravate them. They can't process anything on a spectrum much less emotions and gender identity. They get scared because they don't understand it and then they go to their safe places or strike out to destroy it.That's as far as that goes. The are a different story. Those want to kill all people. You're on the list, just check your number. Don't overthink this one.

@KAOS I feel this so much… and it has caused so many problems!

People be like ‘it’s ok be honest’ then I am honest and they act all offended and upset.

I’ve even taken to saying ‘you know I will be honest if you ask me that’ and they STILL get offended.

baffle me!

@HannahCelsius @actuallyautistic The parts when everyone is just realising that there's an infection / disaster pending are my favourite parts, usually the beginning of the film / book.

I'm not a fan of horror at all.
I've only watched one horror film, gave me nightmares for years, never again!

Y'all : "Oh, sure, having a routine is supportive of me, that's easy. I just follow one and adjust when the routine gets broken."

NDs-like-me:

(past) "Ick, routines, I hate them like the cursed plague. Keep that evil sorcery away from me!"

I think most of us did that with varying degrees of success. In my work life, I was like an actor. I knew how operated even though I had no clue about for 68 years.

I was clueless of about emotions and boundaries in my personal life.

^^^^THIS is what I am writing about now. Diagnosed two months ago at 68. We always knew we were different. We also know we are smarter. We can do everything can do, and things they can never do. All those myths about with incorrect, negatively biased labeling has hurt us more than anything else.

I am going farther with it. Evolution does not go in reverse.

have evolved for a reason.

It is to save the world.

I had noticed that I did this in the past, but didn't know why. It's more than just being an introvert. We really aren't.

bore us a lot, and we choose not to participate in most conversations. When I appeared publicly, I performed. I spoke to large crowds, played music on stage.

But I knew I couldn't do it on a regular basis. I was spent when over. I knew I had to recharge the batteries, because it drained the life out of me.

Who remembers !? I seriously love this show & it's my FEEL GOOD type of show. OMG OMG OMG OMG.

I also had a mega crush on - He was beyond cute.

Quinn was another one of my favorite characters because I saw myself in her. I'm crazy, a little awkward (maybe A LOT) and VERY different from other - I LOVE being different. I was and still am very creative to this day.

Then there's Zoey - I'm not really like her at all. She's very sporty and I'm the opposite. She's also very confident and I honestly admire those qualities.

Dustin - Rebellious type that wants to fit in. he's adorable!!

Chase? I love his curly hair and I still love it!!

Overall, the concept of this PCA boarding school is GENIUS. I still need to watch the movie but later on in this week. I'm on a binge lately. It's so relaxing!

Yes, it is , the day when we say we can safely procrastinate on anything due this week and do it over the weekend in plenty of time.

At first, I was reading these posts that "wow, that's just like me." Now I am writing them.

I think the other people are and we are the because they are all different from each other. We are all alike.

New Years Resolution for : Ask your colleagues better questions than “how was your weekend?”

Or you can keep asking that boring shit and I’ll give you the same stock answers every time. Your basic “Mondays, right!?” Ask me something interesting for once, please.

@micah I make a distinction between who did or didn't grow up under Authoritarian cultures or upbringing. Which they failed to escape from, becoming victims of Stockholm syndrome.

Which we can't perform to their standards. So I'm not sure how that works since it didn't work on me 🤣 but I was an outcast and happy to leave.

Keeping in mind my experience was in two Red regions of the US, not a known dictatorship or -- yet -- controlled by a cult. Even such subtle forms were powerful and created different kinds of schools.

I went to a patchwork of many schools in different places all through elementary school and I saw how much it varied in how each school encouraged or discouraged critical thought, creativity, and bullying. The more Authoritarian the culture, the more the school insisted on everyone pretending to be perfectly the same, and all of us in some sort of conspiracy to pretend it's true.

One thousand miles away was a more welcoming culture in a different region of the United States. So I don't think it was exclusively one kind of brain or another.

My new region was less likely to create the fearful and angry zombies of an unexamined life.

Well whilst that's fun, I possibly didn't explain fully -it's a very common thanks situation.

Diagnosed this year, explains decades of my life.

More they investigate ADHD, more neurological differences found between ADHD traited vs not just in dopamine but how we process & manipulate data, sense of time, short term & today memory, executive function etc.

I have a long pinned thread on my profile with my experience of differences.

I’m sorry… I know that someone looking into our community from the outside may think ‘Surely statistically many who ‘self-diagnose’ must be wrong?’
In my experience this is not the case.
Out of all the ppl I speak to I can’t tell the difference between offcially & self-diagnosed; and I’ve never met a self-diagnosed person and thought, ‘they’re wrong’.
don’t aspire to themselves

@DivergentDumpsterPhoenix @actuallyautistic I spend all my time with ppl (😁🌈♾) and when I am forced back into the company of it is so jarring.
We are different and I’m not going to pretend otherwise, our is different and is supportive of who we are and how we think; culture & community is not.

One theme that keeps coming back is Networking... mixed feelings on that one. Why is our ability to socialise well a career make or break? :octo_sad: 😬.

Are introverts really faring worse? If so, is this as it should be? Or is this a narative that the majority and like to tell?
