From the mid-late 1950s, some extracts from a small brochure giving an overview of Crawley in West Sussex. Crawley, an existing settlement, was designated a New Town in 1947 and was one of a number developed around London to deal with the capital’s population overspill. It would grow rapidly over the next two decades.
