I know people are always going on about how mopey he was but whenever I listen to #NickDrake I'm struck by how cheery his music is.

#NickDrake was born 75 years ago yesterday, 19th June 1948. His shyness and anxiety about performing may have hampered his musical career and he died at just 26 years old but that doesn't takeaway from the fact his songs are essentially poetry put to #Music #Folk

Today's random #Discogs choice Nick Drake and Fruit Tree CD box set 2007. Five Leaves Left and Bryter Later were my favourite albums, I thought Pink Moon was OK but not as good as the other two. Can you pick a favourite track from these? Hard, but Poor Boy was a fav.

Since I've got a new install of #rAudio on a Pi with 250G free on the SD card, I've been copying things over. Since I've always used MP3 or FLAC for my collection I have a lot of music ready to go and no fuss.

Today I put some #NickDrake albums on there that I haven't listened to for ages. I used to love Pink Moon, but today I'm fully taken with Bryter Layter. Initially, I was turned off by the strings, but it is OK today, for some unknown reason. What a sad, bright and melancholy soul he was.

Molly Drake - I remember

Molly Drake was a poet and the mother of #NickDrake, whom she inspired a lot. Her - few - songs only became known after the interested in the music of her son rose. This song, which sounds so happy, has a subtile sadness in the lyrics, especially in the last verse.Hits me every time I listen to it.

Sometimes, I don’t have answers to my mind going 10 to the dozen, but listening to #NickDrake never fails to calm the #ADHD racing thoughts.

Already listened to all of #NickDrake's Pink Moon. Short album. #NowListening to Bryter Layter. It bugs me to no end that the most highly produced Nick Drake album is also the most poorly recorded. You can hear the white noise-static over the whole album. When I was a kid I would have loved the #LoFi element. Now I find it intolerable. #mastomusic
