This is good, by @NeilMackay (who doesn’t seem to be active here anymore, unfortunately). I am completely in support of independence, but I often wonder if the SNP really is, or if they just have no idea about how to strategise for it: being able to demonstrate competent governance is key (as the likes of Lesley Riddoch et al have been saying for years).

Nee, mal ernsthaft. Ich denke das zeigt, wie viel mehr an Kraft aufgebracht werden muss, wenn man gegen die etablierten Strukturen ankämpfen muss. Und leider gewinnen wohl am Ende Typen wie #Merz, #Kubicki, #Lindner und Konsorten - ich hoffe trotzdem auf die Veränderung und habe sehr viel Respekt vor denjenigen, die Sich dem Kampf stellen.

#NicolaSturgeon has resigned and truth be told she had to go. Scotland divided and so many wrong moves with gov. bills lately didn't do her justice. 8 yrs as FM has also taken its toll, you can see it in her face. She's tired. Politics is not a loving and healthy career.
Anyone saying she was the best advocate of independence is deluded and are doing a disservice to Alex Salmond. He rallied the troops more and got them the high needed for a referendum which, thankfully, was voted down in 2014.
