Disney dropped this one - which I’m *sure* had nothing to do with one of the lead characters being gay - and Netflix swooped in to rescue it, which was smart. Nimona is a great character, the script is witty and actually has something to say about being an individual and an outsider. The animation is interesting - not as bold as Spider-verse, but definitely not formulaic.

Une aventure épique dans un univers médiéval+futuriste rafraîchissant!
Dire que ce projet a été annulé par Disney avant d'être relancé par Netflix à cause d'une romance gay avec le héros principal, c'est assez triste et malheureusement révélateur d'une direction conservatrice anti LGBT
C'est vrai que c'est très très dangereux pour nos petites têtes de voir 2 hommes se faire un bisou (parce que ça ne va pas plus loin, le public cible est familial)

Alexandre Vigneault, de La Presse, a sorti un dossier de qualité sur les enjeux #2STNBNCG.

Ça fait pas mal suite à la #MarcheTrans de #Mtl du 5 août dernier.

À part quelques petits détails assez insignifiants à mon avis, c'est excellent. Vigneault ne s'est pas arrêté là, il a aussi encensé le film d'animation #Nimona, qui traite assez clairement des enjeux des personnes #NonBinaires.

Je me pose donc la question: est-ce que je rêve? Ou est-ce que sous le couvert de la «neutralité journalistique», le journal va publier une dizaines d'articles transphobes de #PDFQuébec pour qu'on retrouve une sorte «d'équilibre»?

The motion graphics team on #Nimona did flag designs for every single LGBTQIA+ pride flag. I know the trans flag is in the background in the "Arrow" sequence, so now I have to rewatch to find the other dozen or so.

J'ai plutôt passé un bon moment devant #Nimona, suite à plusieurs reco "vagues" (j'ai assez rapidement compris la raison).
Ce n'est pas un grand film d'animation à proprement (l'intrigue est déjà vue, l'animation dans la moyenne), même si la DA est vraiment chouette, et l'univers intéressant.
Non, c'est surtout clairement la meilleure proposition pour la représentation #LGBTQIA+ qu'on ait pu voir à l'écran ; c'est même tout le moteur du film. Et c'est fait avec un cerveau ; ça change 👍 #Cinema
