Everything a PC aspires to accomplish in the #NinthWorld is going to be a use of one or more Character Stat:

Intellect

Might

Speed

Even if the player ends up not rolling a die.

NPCS don’t get Stats. Only PCS.

A lot of people in the #NinthWorld get called “arkus”, in the same way that the term glaive gets tossed about. To the degree that glaive approximates “bad-ass”, arkus is a “boss”. Lots of people get called boss; only a few of them can run a Kingdom.

Those are the Arkai of Numenera. The leaders for whom incredible power over lives is in reach. The right words in the right ears for the job. That’s an arkus.

NPC Glaives are going to be the top notch caravan guards, bodyguards, warlords & knights that you meet in the #NinthWorld

PC Glaives are going to be called upon to defend everyone from themselves to a City of half a million people. To defeat foes w/ neither names nor numbers.

Don’t expect this type to be a non-brainer. Numenera types have no dump stats, no autopilot types. There’s a lot of fun to be had in the Glaive’s Moves.

Those who know the most about the creatures, mechanisms, precepts, principles, protocols, & relics of the past worlds call the pieces of the past “Numenera”. As a player, anything weird from an earlier world is Numenera. It’s a kind of magic.

In turn, those who know the most about Numenera are termed “Aeon Priests”. They’re the sages of the #NinthWorld

Earth’s surface is still mostly water, it’s just more contiguous these days. There’s still a Moon or perhaps again a Moon but in either case, it’s making tides & calendars for the people of the #NinthWorld. Your wisest say that long ago, humans went to the moon. Your boldest say that they still do.

I’m going to be jotting some notes to myself about the #NinthWorld setting for #Numenera under the hashtag of #NinthWorldPrimer. Only popular notes will be visible beyond a month so if the hashtag seems sparse, it means that I haven’t had a Numenra thought in more than a month & so am probably in a coma.
