The way people want #SocialMedia to be like a conversation between friends or strangers in a bar – but also want those conversations to be stored forever and searchable. As if no one ever says something stupid in the heat of the moment or changes their opinions.
I believe there is value in ephemerality and I believe our social thinking and habits are built on knowing the past is behind us. We tinker with that at our peril.
