Having a very anxious evening. Luckily I have #NonPlayerCharacter before I go to sleep for company and comfort

The interesting thing about #NonPlayerCharacter (and BOOKS & BONE imo) is that in absolute terms it's probably some of the lowest conflict fiction I've read yet, but it feels so much more real and based to me than any other media that what conflict is there (international or external) has so much more effect on me. Some moments have struck me to the point where I needed a metaphorical sit-down/break. I can't remember the last time that happened, it's amazing #AmReading

One of the things I am most enjoying so far about #NonPlayerCharacter is that it is a book with true diversity. People of colour, people with disabilities, both physical and mental (i.e. autism) people with different body shapes, characters that defy the fiction character archetypes. And all of these things merely inform the characters. They're allowed to just exist in the story. I can't put into words how great that is. It is such a breath of fresh air.

Even as someone who loves hugs, I do think people forget that even in that level consent is important. I absolutely love that there is an amazing example of this in #NonPlayerCharacter where someone asks the protagonist "can I hug you?" To which they respond "I'd rather you didn't" and that's all there is to it. You just move on from there. No histeria. It's such a small moment but I love it so much. Extra snaps and sparkles for this book for setting an example ✨ #amreading

Just started reading @vicorva 's newest book NPC (Kickstarter copy, release date planned for October 4th), and after only a few pages in and it's already relatable in a way that mainstream fiction never managed, and probably never will. It has the same warm and loving style as Books & Bone. It's already bringing up so much for me. I'm intensely looking forward to the rest of this book! #amreading #AmReadingIndie #NonPlayerCharacter

Downloaded the #eBooks and extras for @vicorva's successfully funded #Kickstarter #novel #NonPlayerCharacter, and associated #TTRPG #Kin. :)

Now to set aside some time in the evenings to actually read it. :)

Finally did my part and supported @vicorva 's #Kickstarter project: "Non-Player Character: A Cosy Queer Portal Fantasy Novel".

Not just because I want to support V, but also because I enjoyed her previous novel, Books And Bone and am curious to see what other worlds than #Tombtown she can create. :)

Not quite sure if I ever get the opportunity to play her #TTRPG "Kin" with people, but with the lovely artwork in it, it'll be a nice companion to the novel's world, #Vanthis.

Physical books unfortunately weren't shipping to Norway, but hopefully I'll eventually see it in an actual bookstore here. :)
