Nona the Ninth (2022) by Tamsyn Muir. So far, every entry in the Locked Tomb series came with a complete change in tone, so spending time with dorky easygoing Nona wasn't something I expected. This book doesn't focus on riddles just as much as its predecessors and kinda misses their clever enigmatic vibes, but it finally lets some side characters shine, which is extremely satisfying. Also, Muir's writing is just great.

I've kept thinking about this essay and I realized just how much John's big murder was depicted like a fission chain reaction.
After the catalyst, every death gave him enough energy to kill more, and it kept going under its own power until it had consumed all the available fuel (the solar system).
Maybe it's too on-the-nose to say he had become Death, destroyer of worlds.

Just started Nona the Ninth. We shall see how confused I get along the way. I read Gideon and Harrow on audio, which was a bit difficult for me to follow, especially since I struggle with remembering names. I am reading Nona as an ebook, so I am hoping that will help with being able to double check who characters are
