In many cases, other opportunities arise when you demonstrate your value, uniqueness, and/or unmatched expertise or skill in particular areas.

I'm not saying that this path is easy but what I AM saying is that it's possible. I realize that trailblazing or striking out on one's own isn't for everyone. However, for the ones who are willing to step outside of their boxes and look for new ways outside of "business as usual," the rewards can be well worth the effort.

When YOU create your OWN category instead of fitting into existing ones, you make the path instead of waiting for the path to appear. Or, put another way, YOU find your OWN solutions. This is the primary function of creativity, whether it's design, art, or scientific discovery. The creative act is about forging NEW pathways to solve challenging problems.

My hunch is that many of these original thinkers & creators are likely what's now called "neurodiverse," which isn't surprising at all. From this POV, neurodiversity is an asset more than a liability. Not saying that it doesn't come with its own set of challenges; anytime you're a square peg in a round hole, you'll need a great deal of resolve to bubble up from the groundswell & learn how to define yourself on your own terms vs. somebody else's.

What's not often spoken about is how useful it can be to remain completely uncategorizable. This can be maddening or confounding to some, but when you defy expectation & easy categorization, then you're in a league of your own.🤩 This way of thinking is the realm of iconoclasts, pioneers, & pretty much any trailblazer who's ever created anything new. We need more of these types of thinkers. We already have enough box-checkers in this world. So, diverge & conquer.😉
