@michaelflanagan Whatever the method you use or the practice you follow, there is a little trick to ascertain that the state of #nonduality was lived even for a split second: The breath becomes even, the flow of the right and the left nostrils becomes equal.
This is important because some practices of so many said "nondual" gurus may induce transes that aren't the real thing.
The reason for this is to be found in the tantric teachings about the workings of the pranas, nadis and centers.

@michaelflanagan According to #Dzogchen the #nonduality state is the base, the underlying of all experience but that doesn't correspond to our common experience.
Unless we went through an "awakening" experience, induced or spontaneous, we live in a world divided in three states: Wakefulness, dream and (deep) sleep.

In this system the state of non-duality corresponds to the sahaja samadhi that when deepened leads to the sate of Turiya.

@michaelflanagan The ego is not really an entity, it is more akin to a conglomerate of pulsions like a bunch of knots on a rope. But the underlying reality is the rope.
Again, #nonduality is a state. It is said that having solved all attachments and aversions one sees the reality "as it is" and the fusion of the mind with reality is total.

@michaelflanagan Well, I think there is no contradiction at all because #nonduality is a state of the mind which is different from any concept that you can formulate.
The concept of the "thing" is not the "thing".
Reincarnation is usually very poorly explained and understood. What reincarnates? Maybe a better way to put is that the process of dying and rebirth happens because there is a need for experience until the conduit between consciousness and matter is clear.
