Here is a brief introduction. I am a #historian of #refugee #migration and #displacement in the #MiddleEast, #Russia, and #EasternEurope.

I am an Assistant Professor of Global Studies at UC Santa Barbara, where I teach, write, organize, and walk along my favorite ocean.

My forthcoming book examines the migration and resettlement of about a million Muslim refugees from Russia's #NorthCaucasus in the #Ottoman Empire. I am working on a new project on Muslim displacement in the Middle East, the #Balkans, the #Caucasus, #CentralAsia, and #SouthAsia.
