‘But what if it rains?!?’
People are often put-off commuting by bike because they don’t want to get wet. I’ve been doing this #NotDrivingMyCar thing since September and I’ve learnt two things:
1. Waterproofs are waterproof, as is skin.
2. It rains less often than you think. Today is the third time I’ve needed to wear the wet #weather gear.

Had a great week off last week. We had two day trips which meant driving the car, handy to be able to use it for special occasions. I’m back to #NotDrivingMyCar this week, taking the folding e-bike on the bus. Good to hit 1000 miles of travelling by bus, train or bus when I would otherwise have driven.

No #TrainStrikes today, but I decided to get the #bus anyway because it’s so much cheaper at the moment due to the government price cap. Interesting to see how much quieter it is today compared to when the trains weren’t running - I’m the only passenger!

A £2 single ticket means it makes even more sense to be #NotDrivingMyCar.

Such a beautiful morning. I left home in the dark to get the early #train but found my tyre was flat so had to fix it and get the later one. That meant being treated to stunning frosty views, golden sunshine and the pale #SnowMoon. The air was so fresh this morning, so glad I’m #NotDrivingMyCar.

It’s #NewBikeDay! Grabbed a bargain for commuting and winter riding. Going to collect it meant a brisk walk to the station, #train to #Newcastle and then the Metro.

There are #TrainStrikes again today so I’m back on the #bus. I’ve only just discovered there’s a government price cap on bus tickets at the moment (did everyone else know?). Just £2 for my 55 min journey - amazing. Just imagine if they decided to fund that permanently…

It definitely helps make #NotDrivingMyCar easier, and might encourage others to do the same.

I’m going to #London today and need to take a pull-up banner. The ‘air pannier’ strap thing I got for Christmas is perfect for carrying it on the folding #ebike. It’s also another day of #NotDrivingMyCar and avoiding an unnecessary drive to the station.

My weekend #commute seems to be becoming a bit of a thing - taking the train to find flatter roads for a steady ride. It’s a beautiful morning, snow on the ground still, cold. Looking out of the #train window doesn’t get old, and nor does #NotDrivingMyCar.
