I am a #MentalHealth #nurse in the #NHS.
I do this work because I genuinely care about people suffering mental illness and I want to make a positive difference to their lives.

Incidents like this… I don’t know. Is it even worth it?

I get paid shit money to manage huge risks and I do a job that most people tell me they could never do. And for the most part I absolutely love it. I’m passionate about it.

But shit like this cuts really fucking deep and makes me doubt all of it.

I made a decision this morning to cancel my #union membership with #Unison. When I joined - when I was still a student #nurse - it was because I felt they had more backbone than the #RCN. I thought the RCN used to just bend over for the Trust, whereas Unison were more on our side.

Unison were also affiliated with the #Labour party, of which I was a member.

I’m now a member of neither, and neither are anything close to as left as they were. #RedTories, both.

I need: An IV set, #Hartmanns Solution, & #Magnesium Sulphate Heptahydrate (will have prescription). Do I really need an expensive IV stand?

In my 20s, a companion and I published a bi-monthly magazine. He did people stuff like interviews and selling ads. I did bookkeeping, computer stuff, proofreading and such. We didn't get rich, but we made enough to be happy. Since then I have had a lasting interest in #photography.

Before that I had worked as a coder. Unfortunately, I was a passionate but lousy programmer.
