Re Brixton O2 gig crush. This is not new. I attended a Miners benefit Jan 1885, Smiths, Orange Juice et al. The security were taking complete tickets off of the customers (normally they would deface or tear them). They were passing complete tickets to touts who were then selling them to punters coming in from the tube. The gig has been described as scarely overcrowded and there was an air of violence as a result. The only time I have felt in danger at any gig I've been to.

I went to see Rina Sawayama at the O2 Academy Brixton earlier in the year and the experience was utterly miserable.

The venue was enormously overfilled and blazing hot. The crowds meant there was no way to realistically get to the bar to get anything to drink, which in the heat was awful. A guy near me had to leave as he had a panic attack and I felt unwell.

Completely unsurprised at the news of a crush there, I feel for the victims and hope they recover.
