Sometime in the last week, the Open Access Tracking Project (@oatp, #oatp) passed the milestone of 100,000 items tagged.

OATP launched in April 2009. For more background, see the project home page.

Two cheers for this project to make #3D laser scans of two #PublicDomain #sculptures and create perfect duplicates for display in their original location.

It would be better to make the 3D digital scans #OpenAccess and let anyone make copies of any size or use them for remote viewing with zooming and 3D rotation. It's not a new idea and many museums already do it. Here are some examples from the Open Access Tracking Project (@oatp, #oatp).

See the items tagged with "oa.platforms" by the Open Access Tracking Project (@oatp, #OATP). Note that this includes discussions of platforms, not just examples of platforms.

Thanks, Julien. Martin: I'd be happy to answer any questions about #OATP (@oatp) or #TagTeam, the #opensource software on which it runs.

If you love tracking stuff (and the particular stuff you're tracking here), please consider joining the crowd-sourced Open Access Tracking Project (@oatp, #oatp). Here's how to get started or see what's involved.

We'd love to have your help.
Some time in the last month, the Open Access Tracking Project (@oatp, #oatp) home page passed the milestone of 200,000 page views.

I don't know. There are hundreds of studies of the "OA citation advantage". Most try to take confounders into account, e.g. that authors try to make their best work OA. But I don't know how many try to take self-citation into account.
For recent studies, see those collected by the Open Access Tracking Project (@oatp, #oatp).

For older studies (up to 2013) see those collected by Steve Hitchcock.

Update. I'm doing the OATP2Masto job indirectly (reposting tweets as toots) because I can't yet find a way to do it directly (posting OATP's native #RSS feed to #Mastodon). But I'm still interested in a direct solution. I welcome leads on RSS2Masto tools that don't require programming or hosting one's own server.
To follow #openaccess news & comment, please follow @oatp. I'll often toot about #OA here, but I aim for comprehensive coverage thru #OATP, not here.

Update. Two days ago I asked for help pushing the primary @oatp feed to #Mastodon.
https://fediscience.org/@petersuber/109325594741147788
I'm happy to report a solution. #OATP (bit.ly/o-a-t-p) already pushes its primary feed to #Twitter (twitter.com/oatp). I'm now using the open-source #MOA Bridge (moa.party/) to repost the OATP tweets as toots.
I thank @moaparty for its tool and thank @rrrichardzach for the suggestion.
Do you already know the #OpenAccess Tracking Project #OATP? It is a crowd-sourced social-tagging project, running on open-source software, to capture news and comment on open access. This #OpenScience Feed uses it a lot.
