@chiefgyk3d Standardized WebRTC-based streaming tools are just around the corner. #Twitch already has undocumented support for WHIP-ingestion and #OBS will have #WebRTC support through #WHIP in the next release. #WHEP for egress to viewers is what is still needing work in the ecosystem, but I see #selfhosted ultra low-latency streams being feasible in the near future.

@ronabop Oh #Linux works way better than #Windows when I was using JACK and especially #pipewire. But the only limitation is that capture cards on Linux support can vary widely, as well as audio software support for interfaces (GoXLR and a few others). Plus the support for the Stream Deck which makes extremely easy as well as the Stream Elements plugin for #OBS is only on Windows at the moment. I'm hoping the Rode Caster II Pro though alleviates some issues, just saving now for it

So the #warhammer40k #Darktide #Stream on #Twitch went amazing, and I have definitely optimized #Streaming on #OBS from the networking and PC side. Only dropped frames were due to Streamlabs glitching when pulling in the end credits information. You don't need a fancy fiber optic connection or super high end machine, just proper networking, optimization, and appropriate hardware and software planning

#Musicians and #streamer who are using #Linux, if you are having audio delays or issues you may need to disable sleep on the device to resolve it. I had tried for weeks to track a audio/video sync issue between capturing #gamingonlinux streams to my Windows streambox for #OBS and tried everything including the Focusrite buffer being adjusted and upgrading hardware. Running this command for Pipewire in Pop!_OS 22.04 fixed it for me. https://support.system76.com/articles/audio/

Hey video people, question:
I've got a lot of varied content to record, so the seemingly easiest way to get good footage is to set #OBS to CQP mode with like.. QP 18 (just to be safe), make a proxy from that at QP 30-ish, and use the average bitrate from those to create CBR copies that Premiere won't choke on.
Anyone know of a more efficient workflow that doesn't involve guessing my CBR rate and hoping it's not too low?
