Hab heute Stunden damit zugebracht von einem in #Rust Code geschriebenen Programm auf einen #MSSQLServer per #ODBC zuzugreifen. Hab es zwischendurch auch in #Python mit #sqlalchemy versucht. Mit #DBeaver ging's, mit #beekeeper ging's, per Ping ging's.
Bis ich mir endlich einen passenden #ADO String gebaut hatte der dem Server genehm war. 🙄
Sowas passiert mir bei #PostgreSQL nie und auch sonst kenne ich keine solche Diva DB.

Today's #FOSS reward comes with the pre-release of #libreoffice 7.5 on #macos #ventura. Making a #database connection over #ODBC now works again with the appropriate #drivers, and the #Xerial #JDBC driver 3.40.0.0 also enables read/write functionality to #sqlite3 #databases. Finally! All that remains is for these recently fixed features to be included in the #Appstore release! Fingers crossed!

Was ich finde ist teils sehr veraltet.
Ziel ist es, per ODBC SQL-Abfragen von PHP an die DB/2 der iSeries zu feuern...

Exotic problem: Old #Access database, old software, must run on new industrial PC with #Windows10. Database accesses via #ODBC driver are crazy slow - but there is a workaround.

Exotisches Problem: Alte #Access-Datenbank, alte Software, muss auf neuem Industrie PC mit #Windows10 laufen. Datenbankzugriffe per #ODBC-Treiber sind irre langsam - aber es gibt einen Workaround.
