I went to #fosdem and also made a brief visit to #offdem, I had a really nice time at both. Fosdem kind of gave me an ego check and reminded me how much I still have to learn haha.

Offdem was a really unique experience, I had alot of really pleasant open conversations about my ideas on #permacomputing and got some really nice critisism and feedback

We try to repair broken hardware and if we can't, we aim to repurpose devices. If that is not possible, we salvage parts. Broken hardware is a great resource to start hacking, including smartphones ;)

After too many years of not being able to host our #fosdem and #offdem friends, @hsbxl hosted #bytenight again. I am happy and honored to have been the culprit of the party lighting again ! Twinkle twinkle little #blinkenlight ! Thanks to all the people that helped me setup, to Bugel Amplification for the original analog filter design and @eevblog for the peak detection circuit. Even bigger thanks to our wonderful guests, that help keep #hsbxl afloat, #bytenight alive and make it an awesome party to be at year after year, and to the volunteers prepping stuff all day and bolting around all night ! Be excellent to each other and see you all next year !

Final General Assembly at #OFFDEM starting now. It was a great moment. Thank you all participants for making it such a nice event!

#OFFDEM was fun, short as my time there was. @pukkamustard and I were discussing with the room different problems of distributing data well. I feel we need to continue that.

There was a suggestion of finding a space for putting up a comparison of these approaches, which is great! It's also a fair bit of work.

Was there anyone else from here in the room?

Uffff my body's a mess.... but much less than if I didn't hydrate as much as i did ! Did you ?

Last night at the bytenight i gave that usual tho necessary reminder to many drunk ppl and 2 of them still insisted for not to. I can't understand. Why would anyone desirably avoid drinking water ?
It's cheaper, healthier, refreshing, energizing. You can even refill for free, share it for caring, and eventually reuse the bottle for an ecological way to wipe your ass like lots of non-white ppl do.

I couldn't ever had danced so hard during 5 hours if i didn't drink more water than beer, club maté and ice tea. Neither could I have great conversations with super interesting ppl. Sad that some ppl refuse that opportunity. Would it be bc of (lack of) self-confidence ? Toxic masculinity legacy ? Sadness ? Please next time : drink water and go ask anyone for a hug, there will probably be someone up for it !

Anyway, it was cool to see you nerds dancing as much as you could at the #offdem and #bytenight.

Ok, time to get up, have a shower, visit a friend then -> see you at VSP for the lunch !
