We've talked to the #OFN devs a lot. When they first started, @lynnfoster and I were developing food network software. When we saw their stuff, we quit and just started recommending them. We have had many conversations since then. They seem to be open but might be overwhelmed. Have welcomed conversations in the past, both the original dev organization and @ofnusa

I wonder . . food valuechains are so important. Apps, architectures and protocols that federate are gradually coming of age. Folks like Mikorizal are on the case. Technologies like fedwiki are (my strong hunch) built for this. See thread:

So I wonder, is it time to have a chat on this? Maybe bring together a little consortium. First stop would be, how closed (or overwhelmed) are the software tools folks in #OFN? Might they welcome a conversation?

After months of planning and data entry (thousands of products). Hunt or Gather Buying Club has made the move to #OpenFoodNetwork We are giving ourselves a month to iron out the initial kinks, then will come back to other issues: cold storage, delivery, building member participation, establishing links with OFN in Mexico...

Excited about Open Food Network's spread -- folks in #Puebla, Mexico are talking about a possible instance. Building #OFN could be a great way to build cooperative networks that cover a large part of the food chain.
