Soaring prices leave 1 in 20 #UK adults unable to afford food, says #ONS. Renters and single parents bear the brunt, signalling a deepening #CostOfLiving crisis. Financial futures look bleak as daily costs consume income. #ToriesOut #VoteLabour

"COVID-19 infections increased in England (2.66%) and trends were uncertain in Wales (2.41%) and Scotland (2.59%) in the week ending 13 March 2023."
That was the last set of data. From now on, we're in the dark.

Looking at the #ONS #LongCovid stats, one number really jumped out at me. About 600,000 people have had long covid for over 2 years.
I see the #ONS #covid stats have finally been update. Rate in England has jumped from 1 in 45 to 1 in 20 since their last update (weeks ago):

Another look at the #ONS data on #gender and sexual orientation: '#London also had higher proportions of people identifying as #transgender men (0.16%) and #trans women (0.16%) when compared with the rest of England and Wales.' Gosh. No wonder we're seen as such a threat. THREE in every 2,000 people. Fewer than that outside London. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-64184736 #Census21

@duncan_lithgow Hi, according to the #ONS in 2017, UK spent £2,989 per person on healthcare, around the median for members of the OECD (£2,913 per person).
However, UK has second-lowest spending per person of the G7 group of large, developed economies. Highest spenders being France (£3,737), Germany (£4,432) and the United States (£7,736).
It would be interesting to find current rates of spending post-Covid. I shall keep digging!
values that I live by, but those values are not shaped by the CofE, and I’m uncomfortable with the amount of influence they have in this day and age.
I don’t have to have a belief in a higher power to be a decent human being, you know? Kindness is everything.
The #ONS results are here: https://www.ons.gov.uk/peoplepopulationandcommunity/culturalidentity/religion/bulletins/religionenglandandwales/census2021
So, my thoughts on the #ONS census results re #religion have already been voiced by others professionally, but essentially it’s this: policy is out of step with society.
We have state-funded Church of England schools, 26 bishops and archbishops hold seats in the House of Lords, and the monarch has to swear an oath to preserve the Church. There’s a requirement for schools to hold Christian worship.
How can this be right in 2022 when less than half of the population described themselves as…
I’ve been meaning to comment on the #ONS figures this week on #religion. In 2021 for the first time in a #census of England and Wales, less than half of the population (46.2%, or 27.5 million people) described themselves as “#Christian”. Despite this, it remained the most common response to the religion question.
“No religion” was the second most common response, with 37.2% (22.2 million) stating such.
I have lots of thoughts on this, but it’s 02:36am so I’ll park it. For now.

The #ONS say most of the country in now not #Christian
But what I'm struggling to understand why certain infamous gammons think this is a problem.
The rise of #NoReligion almost entirely explains that decrease, possibly they think that Satan is to blame...? Yet the way they are talking, without them actually saying it, infers that Sharia Law is almost upon us.
What are they wibbling on about this time?
