#ORCID is shifting from #RINGGOLD to #ROR as IDs for a scholar's institutional affiliation.

PS: I support this move. It will help establish ROR as the #standard for institutional affiliation. RINGGOLD IDs are #proprietary and ROR IDs are in the #PublicDomain under #CC0.

I already saw interesting tidbits in the biography section of an #ORCID but this one is quite special!

#Introduction I posted one of these on my first server but they haven't migrated here. So I will do it again.
I am a #PhysicianScientist with a PhD in Immunology. I trained as a #Pediatrician and then as a #MedicalGeneticist. I was in the first cohort of doctors who got board certified in #MedicalGenetics.
I was at Baylor College of Medicine for 28 years where I had a very active clinical practice. Have worked in Industry for the last 6 years (Illumina for 5y).

The concept of APAC doesn't really work in scholarly comms does it... Who came up with this grouping? It's mainly for trades/commerce, no?

I taught a session on #ORCiD today to mostly grad students. I'm going to need to have a fallback if I do this again for some of the students who don't yet have publications. Maybe separate sessions for those who have published and those who haven't? #librarian
