Braved -7F/-21C to go see the sea smoke this morning. Worth it. Otherworldly!

Good morning sequence. I was hoping for a red burning sky this morning with this massive storm approaching, so I got to the beach before 6 when it was pitch-dark and stayed until 7:15. No red burn, but was pretty anyway! Chilly though: 22°F/-5.5°C

alt: 4 views of dawn on the beach from first light until sunrise. The colors change a lot.
Found this nice channeled whelk (Busycotypus canaliculatus) shell this morning. It’s nearly 7”/18 cm long and about 4”/10 cm wide.
They live in shallow waters and are predators who love to dine on clams.

Good morning and Happy Solstice*!
It’s rather chilly: 20°F/-6.6°C but here’s sunrise on the shortest day.
*Solstice here is actually at 4:47 pm today. But sunset is at 4:19
This morning’s sunrise. (I’ll get better at sharing these in the actual morning as I get more used to the prehistoric pachyderm. Hopefully, I’ll find a viable way to do the video version that people loved in that bird place.)

That other place is devolving rapidly, so I guess it’s time for me to focus on the hairy elephant. Which feels daunting, tbh.
Anyway… I guess I can start with my #OceanDevotion pics and videos. This was this morning’s beach sunrise after last night’s first snow of the season.
Good morning! It’s seems Mastodon can’t handle the size of my #OceanDevotion videos, so until I figure out a workaround, here’s a pic of today’s sunrise.
