It's nice that DEFRA have done a survey on ocean literacy (https://www.gov.uk/government/news/protecting-the-marine-environment-is-vital-say-public) but their definition is extraordinarily narrow. It's NOT ABOUT US. The ocean was there first, doing all sorts of things that build & maintain the planet we know. This self-centred approach is the wrong way to look at this. We are part of this planet, not the reason it exists. #Ocean #OceanLiteracy #Perspective

Earlier this week I attended the Swedish conference on #AquaticEducation organised by Havsmiljöinstitutet, Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet and Havs- och vattenmyndigheten. I had a blast meeting so many passionate #educators and sharing the research I am conducting at the University of Gothenburg on #VirtualReality for #OceanLiteracy.
