My daughter and I are looking forward to joining most of the #Odamex development team at #Quakecon2023. I’ve always wanted to go to #Quakecon. I’ve also been on the Odamex team for around 15 years now and I’ve never met any of these guys in person so I’m very excited to attend. We’re hoping to see some serious #boomershooter action at the BYOC LAN!

@duke_of_germany @deadparrot The downside to this, as someone that has long worked on an open-source Doom port called #Odamex which maintains vanilla demo compatibility, is that the engine is very sensitive to changes and compiler optimization. If floating point precision or arithmetic are not perfect then the demos go out of sync and crazy things happen. That is why our main regression testing consists of testing demos to make sure they are producing the correct results (checksum).

#Odamex 10.3.0 has been released. Grab it now for some multi-player and single-player #Doom action. Available for #Windows, #MacOS, #Linux, and it can be built on any other *nix platform that is supported by SDL1 or SDL2.
